What is Auriculotherapy?
Auriculotherapy/ Ear acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the ear to elicit a therapeutic response in corresponding parts of the body. When a point on the ear is stimulated, it sends a signal to the brain that is then transported to the area of the body being treated. It is like reflexology on the ear.

Acupuncturists will use needles to stimulate these points traditionally but nowadays we often substitute needles with earseeds using the seeds of Vaccaria plant or tiny magnetic balls as tools to create stimulations. Vaccaria plant is known in Chinese medicine as a blood tonifier, promoting energy flow and blood circulation. And the magnetic balls are working in the same way but just mobilizing the energy and blood flow by influencing the magnetic field of the body. There is also another option of ear seeds with Swarovski® Crystal embellished Ear Pellets, which can be used in the same manner as Vaccaria ear seeds or magnetic balls, but look like sparkling diamond earrings.
Ear Seeds treatment is safe, noninvasive, and generally painless. As they are small and barely noticeable, patients enjoy the convenience and continual stimulation.
How to use:
-
Use a piece of alcohol pad to clean the earwax on your outer ear.
-
Peel the ear seeds out from the plate with the stainless-steel tweezers.
-
Follow the instruction charts (as attached) to place the seeds onto the appropriate ear acupoints according to your condition.
-
Press the seeds 4 times a day and each round stimulate 10-20 times on each seed. The pressure should be stimulating but not too painful.
-
Remove after 3-4 days and repeat the above steps on the other side of your ear.
Who Can Use Ear Seeds:
Anyone over the age of three can use ear seeds, as they are safe and natural. Children and the elderly may have to use less pressure, and those who are pregnant should consult their physician before they apply ear seeds. The tape for Vaccaria Ear Seeds contains latex. Those with a latex sensitivity should use our clear tape pellets as they are latex-free.
